Beat the Heat

By Guest Blogger, Patricia DeJong Protect yourself from the heat:  1) Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate – this is the most important thing to do.  Water is the best but juices and fresh fruit are also good.   2) Be an early bird or a night owl – sun does most of its damage from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. so schedule outdoor activities early or late. By Guest Blogger Patricia DeJong Summer, with its hot temperatures, is about to arrive. It is time to remind ourselves to protect ourselves.  It is important to keep ourselves hydrated and our skin protected.  Use sun screen as directed, and try to stay out of the sun between 10am and 2pm . Of course, the best way to protect your skin is to cover up with light colored clothing, cotton is best, with long sleeves, long pants and a light colored hat.
