BACK TO SCHOOL

by | Aug 1, 2022 | Education

With record breaking temps along the greater Wasatch Front, we wish you a cooling welcome to August.

If you are feeling a little too much heat, check out the Cool Zone Program.  Cool Zones are areas in county and SLC facilities where members of the public can escape the summer heat, hydrate, and learn about available programs throughout the Wasatch Front. Call (385) 468-3200 for more information or for list of Cool Zone locations near you

With August we all start thinking about getting back to school, at any age,

If you are the parent of a student, here is a quick link to locate start dates and back to school information for your district:

Not going back to school, but want to? Online learning is the hot ticket and a cool way to spend some afternoons:

As always, please check out our UNPHC EdX Youtube channel as we continue to post topical educational videos for your edification, as well as our Utah Non Profit Housing Facebook page.

Of course, to access these resources having affordable internet access and a reliable device is fast becoming a necessity. The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) is a government program that provides eligible households a credit of up to $30 a month towards internet and mobile services

For more information visit InternetEssentials.com or call 855-8-INTERNET or  855-846-837638 (YES, it does look like too many digits, but it is a direct line to the program)

If you are a household with school-age children, we may be able to help you with a new Chromebook, based on eligibility, if you are interested, email  ginger@unphc.org using the subject line “Chromebook”.

In the meantime, here is the ultimate guide to homemade popsicles, a delight at every age. https://www.liveeatlearn.com/how-to-make-homemade-popsicles/

Stay Cool!
