It’s October, just one month before our national and local elections. Voting is the singular most impactful act you can do for your country. Your voice matters, and your vote is your voice.
Today, most American citizens over the age of 18 are entitled to vote in federal and state elections, but voting was not always a default right for all Americans. It took decades for women, people of color, and indigenous residents to be able to vote in presidential and local elections. Getting to this point took hard work, deep activism, and a commitment to the importance of a singular vote. It’s our job to honor that, by taking seriously the importance of voting in our society.
It’s time to register to vote, check your registration if you are, and educate yourself about what’s on the ballot.
