Over the last year or two, many people have taken a step back to look holistically at their lives. At UNPHC EdX, we are hoping to help create more space for well-being. Below are 7 areas of well-being, there may be a specific area of interest to you. Consider where you are now and how you want to improve throughout 2022.
Incorporate movement throughout your day. The most popular New Year’s resolution is to be more active. Movement improves your physical and mental health, increases longevity, and is a natural mood booster. Keep it simple! Take a walk, do a few stretches, or find some free online fitness classes.
Nutrition promotes positive growth, development, aging, and well-being within your physical, mental, and emotional health. Maintaining abundant hydration also helps regulate essential bodily functions.
Mindfulness & Meditation
Mindfulness is the practice of purposefully being aware of one’s actions in the present moment. This can physically build your brain and heal your physical and mental wounds. Meditation is proven to reduce stress, anxiety, and improve productiveness.
Careers can provide a sense of purpose and belonging in the greater depths of society. It’s essential to feel challenged, excited and motivated in an activity that we spend nearly 90,000 hours of our lives doing.
Work towards your short and long-term financial goals. Financial wellness means something different for everyone, but sound finances have building blocks that we all can practice.
Focus on your relationships with the people around you. Human connection has many psychological benefits, and there is so much beauty in spending quality time with those we love.
Make a difference in your community and the greater world. Living with impact feeds life into you and those around you. Stand up for various causes you believe in, stay informed and aware, or simply be kind to one another. Small acts change the world.
Once you’ve identified some areas you’d like to consider, our partners at USU Extension will have some great ideas and tools to help you out.
